About the Role:

The Banquet Houseperson (PM Shift Supervisor) plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of events and banquets within our hospitality establishment. This position is responsible for overseeing the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of banquet facilities, ensuring that all areas are clean, organized, and ready for service. The supervisor will lead a team of housepersons, providing guidance and support to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with other departments to coordinate event logistics and address any last-minute changes or requests. Ultimately, the Banquet Houseperson Supervisor is key to delivering an exceptional guest experience through meticulous attention to detail and effective team management.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in a hospitality or banquet setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Hands on approach is essential for this role, Including moving tables and chairs as part of the room setup and breakdown. Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in hospitality management or related field. Experience with event planning and coordination. Luxury hotel experience Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of the banquet houseperson team during PM shifts. Ensure that all banquet rooms are set up according to event specifications, including table arrangements, linens, and decor. Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas before, during, and after events. Communicate effectively with event coordinators and other departments to ensure smooth operations. Train and mentor new staff members on best practices and safety protocols. Execute banquet functions per BEOs and timelines Maintain strong client relationships and ensure successful events Coordinate with Engineering for repairs and maintenance Create standards for banquet operations, including buffets, breaks, and plated event Manage inventory of China, glass, silver, and equipment Conduct interviews, training, and performance evaluations for banquet Houseperson staff

Develop and manage monthly forecasts with department heads

The required skills for this position include strong leadership abilities, which are essential for managing a diverse team and ensuring that all members are motivated and performing their tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills are vital for liaising with other departments and addressing any guest needs or concerns promptly. Attention to detail is crucial in setting up banquet spaces to meet specific client requests and maintaining high cleanliness standards. Time management skills are necessary to prioritize tasks and ensure that all preparations are completed on schedule. Preferred skills, such as event planning experience, will enhance the supervisor's ability to anticipate needs and contribute to the overall success of each event.

A hands-on approach is essential for this role, as you will be actively involved in setting up and breaking down rooms for events.
