Job Summary
As a
Quality Inspector , you will perform inspections on
high-speed rotating machinery components
at various stages of the manufacturing process, including first article, in-process, receiving, and final inspections. You'll ensure components meet specifications, uphold quality standards, and contribute to operational excellence in a
fast-paced, turbo machinery environment .
Key Responsibilities
Conduct
first article and in-process inspections
in the Machine Shop Perform inspections on incoming parts (castings, forgings, machined parts) Carry out
receiving, in-process, and final inspections
of parts and assemblies Document inspection results and initiate defect reports as needed Conduct source inspections at local vendors when required Support
supplier quality engineers
and MRB processes Perform inspections on welds before, during, and after welding Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant inspection area following 5S practices Occasionally travel to suppliers' sites for audits and inspections Required Experience
5+ years inspecting parts
used in high-speed rotating equipment (e.g., turbines, pumps, compressors) Hands-on use of
inspection hand tools
(e.g., calipers, micrometers, bore gauges) Experience interpreting
blueprints, GD&T , and engineering specs (ASME Y14.5) Nice-to-Have Experience
Previous work in
turbo expanders or cryogenic systems Familiarity with
weld inspection
standards Exposure to MRP systems and engineering drawing databases NDE (liquid penetrant) Level II certification or qualifying experience toward it Welding inspector certification or willingness to become CWI Required Skills
Understanding of
industrial standards and procedures Ability to interpret production travelers and technical documentation Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and quality databases Collaborative team player in a
dynamic shop floor environment Preferred Skills
NDE Level II or equivalent experience CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or working toward certification Familiarity with turbo expander or pump systems Additional Requirements
High school diploma or GED required Associate's degree or vocational training in
manufacturing or mechanical inspection
preferred Ability to work independently and prioritize inspections Benefits
