A Brief Overview
The Retail Planner is responsible for Merchandise Planning across all DTC (Direct to Consumer) channels. This role is responsible for managing the ASICS brand for brick and mortar stores, the company owned e-commerce website, and marketplaces. The Retail Planner works in close collaboration with the Buying team by managing open-to-buys and key item plans to ensure inventory levels are appropriate to hit financial targets. This role also is key in creating and maintaining reports that drive the direct to consumer business.
Leadership Responsibilities
This position does not have people leadership responsibilities What You'll Do
Manage category open-to-buys (OTB) for brick and mortar stores and e-commerce. Lead formal OTB meetings once a month with Buying Team to discuss financial performance and identify risks and opportunities Partner with Buying Team for in season management of sales and inventory including promotion planning and analysis, markdown proposals, and exit strategies Standardize ad-hoc report creation and modifications for DTC team to help drive sales and inventory analysis Meet with the Buying Team on a regular basis to review assortments for upcoming buys and ensure the product strategies align with financial plans Meet with Marketplace and Demand Generation teams regularly to provide input on appropriate pricing, promotion, assortments, and inventory Responsible for creating and maintaining pre-season financial plans as it relates to merchandise management including sales, inventory, markdowns, margins and turns for all channels Adheres to all company policies and procedures Embodies and demonstrates company ethics and values Abides by all federal, state and local laws How You'll Be Successful
Strong analytical skills and an expert level of knowledge of retail KPI's and retail math Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to present plans and results to senior management in a concise and professional manner Self-driven and capable of problem solving independently and with cross functional teams Knowledge of resource allocation, planning, and assortment strategies to increase gross margins Experience with systems similar to SAP, BI systems, StoreForce and Teamwork preferred Thorough knowledge of, and passion for, athletic industry trends is a benefit Understanding multiple brands and their current strategies that compete with ASICS What You'll Need
Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in a related field or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training required 2-3 years retail experience inclusive of in store, buying, planning, allocation, supply chain, or related experience required Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills preferred SAP experience preferred Knowledge in retail planning systems preferred
SALARY / PAY RANGE:
MIn: $63,000 Max: $70,000
