Prepares daily and weekly schedules for assigned product lines or departments and for coordination with the overall master schedule. Communicates regularly with purchasing and production staff to adjust schedules to accommodate changes in machine or material availability or staffing.
Determine make and buy shortages. Create work orders for finished goods. Advise purchasing or fab/machining scheduler of shortages. Provide estimated lead times. Update information in the Sales Order Report. Provide estimated ship dates. Lead weekly review of Sales Order Report. Create production schedule based on sales order due date and white glove orders. Work with floor supervision to change priorities. Print and distribute Sales Order Report to the shop floor. Contact our coaters regarding part status. Verify inventory of parts and finished goods. Monitor key customer orders (i.e. Joy Global, Caterpillar and Grainger). Other duties as assigned. Requirements
3-5 years of experience in a material planning role within a manufacturing operation Bachelor's degree and Supply Chain and/or Operations Management experience preferred Expert knowledge of MRP using a modern ERP system such as SAP, Microsoft AX, Epicor (Microsoft AX preferred) Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and QRM concepts Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access Database Excellent communication skills Strong desire to follow-through on projects and commitments
