Position Summary
:
The ReStore Loading Dock Associate supports Atlanta Habitat's mission by serving as a point of contact for donors and customers, representing Atlanta Habitat for Humanity as well as the ReStore.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The ReStore Loading Dock Associate is responsible for:
Assisting on the ReStore trucks by helping the drivers load and unload donations Assisting the Sales staff in arranging merchandise on the sales floor Assisting customers on the loading dock by loading purchased merchandise and taking donations Assisting in organizing and maintaining truck equipment Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of ReStore trucks Assisting in keeping ReStore equipment in service and stored correctly Providing outstanding customer service to donors and customers Donation Support
Assist the Donations team on pickup routes, as needed. Load and unload donated items with care. Provide good customer service to all donors. Operate all truck and moving equipment in a safe manner. Loading Dock
Assist customers with loading purchased merchandise and donors with unloading donations. Provide necessary paperwork to donors. Move donations to the proper area with care. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Provide good customer service to all donors and customers. Processing
Assist in keeping the processing and loading dock areas organized. Assist in processing incoming donations. Move donations into processing areas and assist moving processed merchandise onto sales floor. Sales
Assist the sales staff by moving merchandise from storage areas onto sales floor. Assist the sales staff in creating attractive merchandising displays by moving items into the appropriate place on the sales floor. Assist customers in loading purchased merchandise into their vehicles, either through the loading dock or the front door. Move sold items from sales floor to loading dock holding area. Provide good customer service to all customers while on sales floor. Other
Assist in engaging volunteers. Attend staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements
Good customer service skills Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work. Able to lift 50 pounds, perform heavy manual tasks, and be capable of performing outside duties under all weather conditions. Able to safely operate moving equipment, including pallet jack and forklift. Able to interact with a variety of customers, donors, volunteers, and staff. Able to respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively. Education and Experience:
Education/Professional Credentials
Minimum High School Diploma or GED. Experience
Minimum one year experience working with moving and loading dock equipment. Forklift experience preferred. Retail experience with construction or building materials/hardware preferred. Physical Requirements:
Able to lift 50 pounds at all times. Frequent performance of heavy manual tasks. Capable of performing outside duties under all weather conditions. Able to walk or stand for prolonged periods of time.
This position is classified as a hourly non-exempt. Some evening and weekend work is required. Occasional driving around the City of Atlanta and South Fulton County is required - candidates must have a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers' license.
