Job Summary
The Medical Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals. This role is essential for delivering excellent customer service, managing administrative responsibilities, and ensuring the efficient daily operations of the front office in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities / Job Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. Check-in and check-out patients, verifying demographic and insurance information. Address patient inquiries in person, by phone, and via email. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments using the clinic's scheduling system. Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient appointment flow and manage patient waitlists. Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays, deductibles, or outstanding balances. Assist patients with billing inquiries and process payments. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA. Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including calls, emails, and faxes. Support office supply management and inventory. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth communication and patient care. Ensure completion of all necessary documentation prior to patient appointments. Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Certification in Medical Office Administration (e.g., CMAA - Certified Medical Administrative Assistant).
Qualifications
Bilingual - Spanish (Required) 1+ year of experience in a medical office, receptionist, or customer service role Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with insurance verification and medical billing processes Experience in an OBGYN or women's health setting Experience
Minimum 1 year in a medical office, customer service, or front desk administrative role.
