KUSA-TV,
the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate located in Denver, CO is seeking a curious, creative, and ambitious
Producer
to shape our weekend evening newscasts. We’ll choose the candidate who is a risk-taker and a creator with a talent for showcasing information for our audience.
We prioritize breaking news and weather, investigative journalism, and original storytelling as key components of our newscasts. We're looking for someone with a proven ability to create, produce and write news of the day as well as unique content with real personality and energy to captivate and hold the audience. We value a collaborative, motivated journalist who works well within a team to bring the truth to our audience.
Responsibilities
Craft compelling newscasts that embrace breaking news, enterprise content, emotion, and showcasing Work directly with Executive Producer & news leaders to consistently build a high-quality news show Quickly react to breaking news and manage the show's timing Booth continuous coverage on broadcast and live streams for breaking news, weather coverage, and community events Use our extensive toolkit along with your own creative production techniques to enhance stories Advocate for underrepresented people, communities and viewpoints to have a voice and presence in your show Write in an exciting, accurate, and creative way Enterprise news stories Research stories to ensure they are factual and ascertain sources’ credibility Use AI, social media and digital tools to research, discover, and produce content Lead and inspire a team to work together for a great newscast Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producer And most of all…have fun
Requirements
College degree in journalism, communications or similar 1-3 years full-time newscast producing experience Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content Strong social media skills to deliver content and listen for ideas Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, and Axis graphics a plus Organizational skills and the ability to work under time pressure deadlines Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events Shifts could include overnight hours, holidays and weekends.

Pay Range
$26.45—$32.50 USD

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.
Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.
TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
