Overview Groq is looking for a highly skilled and detail-driven Accounting Manager to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with strong technical acumen, hands-on operational expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You will be responsible for managing the close process, reviewing complex transactions, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities & Opportunities In This Role Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation, review, and coordination with cross-functional teams
Review and approve complex transactions with sensitivity to technical accounting standards, including ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350, and ASC 718
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Maintain and improve internal controls to support audit readiness and compliance
Collaborate with external consultants on domestic and international tax filings and ensure accurate global compliance
Serve as a subject matter expert in NetSuite, helping teams navigate the system and optimize usage for accurate reporting
Utilize and manage close processes through tools such as FloQast (or similar close management systems)
Partner with stakeholders across the organization to support financial initiatives and reporting accuracy
Contribute to process improvements and help scale accounting operations as the company grows
Ideal Candidates Have/are 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with a mix of private and public company experience; private accounting is required, public is a strong plus
Strong technical accounting knowledge, especially related to ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350, and ASC 718
Experience managing or running the close process, with proficiency using close management tools (e.g., FloQast)
Solid understanding of audit controls and preparation for external audits
Advanced proficiency in NetSuite and comfort navigating complex financial systems
Prior experience working with domestic and international tax matters, including coordination with third-party providers
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
Strong operational mindset with a proactive approach to improving systems and processes
Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
Experience managing people is a plus, but not required

Compensation At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, the base salary range is $117,000 to $158,000, determined by your skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks.
