Business Intelligence Analyst opportunity with the Department of Radiology at the University of Washington. Full-time position.
Summary The Department of Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a Full-Time Business Intelligence Analyst. The BI Analyst develops and maintains BI solutions (views, queries, reports, visualizations, dashboards) to support analytical and business needs. Provides expert customer support, integrates data from multiple sources, troubleshoots existing products, and collaborates with a team to build new solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.)
BI Solutions Development (40%): Create, maintain, and revise BI solutions (dashboards, reports, tools and processes) for clinical operations, finance, education, and operations; translate business needs and data into BI solutions; monitor and maintain data sources for accuracy; learn available data sources (EPIC/DAWG, UW EDW, Workday, etc.); adhere to product standards (version, data, author, change log, purpose, customer, limitations); perform testing to confirm report accuracy; engage and direct vendors, ITS, Clinical Engineering and other resources to assist with analytics product development.
BI Solutions Maintenance (35%): Maintain existing reports and products with rigorous testing, refreshed dates, and access updates; create and champion maintenance and testing processes; perform regular work to uncover issues and enhance performance.
BI Support (20%): Respond to and analyze BI-related questions and problems from customers; train and assist customers in using tools to self-serve data when possible; act as back-up for team members; collaborate with product owners to resolve issues.
Documentation and Training (5%): Create and update end-user and technical documentation; understand available data sources (Epic, UW EDW, Workday); ensure data extraction, reporting, and analysis comply with healthcare regulations (HIPAA); provide regular status updates; participate in training opportunities including Epic or vendor training as required.
Self/Team Development: Participate in fostering a collaborative, diverse, inclusive, and equitable team environment; contribute to team development and culture.
Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Science, Computer Science, Economics, Informatics or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1+ years’ experience with BI, Analytics and Reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Epic, SQL, SSMS).
Additional Requirements Ability to understand business and technical design considerations and facilitate problem solving in a customer service context.
Experience data modeling and transforming datasets; clear written and verbal communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
Desired Qualifications 2+ years’ Power BI report development; 1+ years’ experience with healthcare professionals and/or datasets; experience initiating and executing process improvement projects; experience developing or implementing maintenance or test plans; software development lifecycle experience and collaboration in a larger team; consulting experience involving customer-facing work and delivering results.

Supervision: Reports to the Business Intelligence Manager in the Radiology Department.
Work Environment and Physical Demands Schedule is normally 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday, with flexibility. Hybrid work option may be available. Some travel between sites may be necessary. Physical demands include regular speaking/listening, frequent sitting and use of hands; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details Pay Range Minimum: $61,080 annual; Pay Range Maximum: $85,008 annual.
