Job Description:The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is seeking a dedicated Compensation and Pension (C&P) Physician to join our team in Reno, NV. The C&P Physician plays a crucial role in evaluating veterans' medical conditions to determine their eligibility for compensation and pension benefits.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough medical evaluations of veterans applying for compensation and pension benefits.
- Review medical records, conduct physical examinations, and complete medical reports.
- Provide detailed and accurate documentation of findings based on VA Disability Examination Worksheets.
- Utilize the VA s electronic medical record system to document evaluations and submit reports.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive evaluations.
- Participate in training and continuous education to stay updated on VA policies and procedures related to C&P examinations.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or relevant specialty.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.
- Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, veteran-centered care.
- Prior experience conducting C&P examinations or working in a similar evaluation role.
- Familiarity with VA disability benefits and compensation processes.
