Position Summary
NTN Driveshaft, Inc. is seeking a skilled and proactive
Purchasing Direct Buyer
to manage the procurement of raw materials and production-critical components. This role ensures timely, cost-effective purchasing decisions that support manufacturing schedules, quality standards, and supplier performance. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, ERP proficiency, and a deep understanding of direct material sourcing in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Source and purchase direct materials required for production, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery.
Issue and manage purchase orders in alignment with production schedules and inventory targets.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
Collaborate with planning, engineering, and quality teams to support new product launches and material changes.
Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Support cost reduction initiatives and supplier negotiations.
Ensure ERP system accuracy for purchasing data and material availability.
Assist in supplier audits and onboarding processes.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3-5 years of experience in direct material purchasing, preferably in automotive or manufacturing.
Proficiency in ERP systems (JDE preferred).
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.
Familiarity with ISO/IATF standards and supplier compliance requirements.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
