The successful candidate will have:
Four years of increasingly responsible secretarial experience
Computer experience required
Knowledge of general secretarial and bookkeeping procedures
Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and English usage
Effective oral communication skills; excellent telephone manner
Ability to use general office equipment and learn specific software programs
Ability to work effectively under pressure and independently with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to represent the district in a positive manner to the public
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, parents, and the general public
Ability to follow district policies and procedures
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff and provide excellent customer service
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent

General Functions
8.0 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch period) for 210 days per year managing the operation of the office and providing various support services for students, parents, staff, and the public. Must have ability to interact with school-aged children in a warm and confident manner, screen and treat minor student illnesses or injuries, accurately perform arithmetic calculations, set up and maintain an accurate filing system, attend to detail and follow tasks through to completion, organize and set priorities, work effectively under pressure and be flexible, work independently with minimal supervision, and maintain confidentiality.
Office environment, confined to work area, experiences constant interruptions, may deal with distraught or angry parents and/or students. Secretarial/Clerical (Level 4) pay level begins at $33.13 per hour.
