About The Role
TPZ Ventures, a subsidiary of The Possible Zone, is a consumer product incubator where young adult Founding Associates — many of them TPZ alumni — take on the role of co-founders. Over 6+ months, each Founding Associate researches, ideates, develops and launches a new physical product, working in a fast-paced, collaborative sprint to hit $1 million in revenue within 90 days of launch. Along the way, they get hands-on experience in product development, e-commerce, marketing, and operations, guided by a small team of seasoned experts.
We’re looking for a Head of Product to lead the charge across our portfolio. This role is half strategist, half builder — someone who can inspire a team while personally driving the development of best-in-class consumer goods. You'll guide products from napkin sketch through manufacturing, launch, and iteration, working cross-functionally to bring ambitious ideas to life.
We’re building something meaningful, and we move quickly. If you want to create products that matter — and support the next generation of entrepreneurs — we’d love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
For New Products
Lead the bi-annual Ventures cohort of Founding Associates, guiding young entrepreneurs through the full product development journey — from initial concept to go-to-market launch. Own the product vision and execution for each new venture, working across a range of categories while mentoring Associates through key milestones in design, development, and commercialization. For each product, and together with Founding Associates, collaborate closely with numerous design, engineering, marketing, and sourcing partners to hit specs, timelines, and budgets. Drive go-to-market readiness — particularly as it relates to manufacturing and supply chain. Bring a sharp eye to product quality, cost structure, and design for manufacturability.
For Products Underway from Previous Cohorts of Founding Associates,
Act as head of multiple product lines while guiding product managers who report to you — setting clear priorities and making fast, customer-focused decisions.
What You Bring
10+ years in product development, ideally in consumer hardware or lifestyle goods Proven success owning physical product cycles from concept through mass production Experience managing small teams while still getting hands-on in the details Strong sense of aesthetics and product taste, with consumer-first instincts Comfort navigating ambiguous, fast-paced environments where priorities shift and speed matters Excellent communicator — clear, concise, and capable of rallying a team around an idea Familiarity with design research, cost modeling, CAD, sourcing, and go-to-market planning Bonus: Experience with connected hardware, firmware, or lightweight companion apps Experience with an entrepreneurial venture or start-up strongly preferred Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization Ability to pivot or innovate when necessary Alignment with our mission and demonstrated commitment to core competencies (Leadership, Creativity & Innovation, Collaboration, Communication, Problem Solving, Continuous Learning) A commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all activities (see Statement below)
Compensation & Benefits
Annual full-time salary range is
$150,000 - $175,000 ; offer will be made commensurate with experience and full/part-time status.
TPZ offers performance-based compensation with merit and bonus potential. Our compensation philosophy is designed with checks and balances to ensure pay equity and to fairly recognize and reward employees' contributions.
TPZ provides full-time employees with a comprehensive benefits package, including, but not limited to:
Company-subsidized Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (80% of the individual premium is paid by TPZ) Professional Development opportunities, including the use of state of the art STEAM Makerspace/FabLab Basic Life insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability at no cost to the employee Mental Health and Wellness resources through partnerships with Calm and Wellable Commuting stipend for walking, biking, transit, or gas Retirement plan with employer contributions Up to 25 days of paid time off per year Approx. 20 paid holidays per year Paid parental leave
We will review applications on a rolling basis, and plan to begin interviews in late summer.
About The Possible Zone
Imagine a world where every young person has the opportunity to design their future, launch their own ventures, and develop the skills to succeed in any career path. At The Possible Zone (TPZ), we’re on a mission to make this vision a reality by advancing economic equity and empowering youth.
Based in Boston, TPZ is a nonprofit offering a multi-year, project-based entrepreneurship program for high school students. We combine STEAM education, hands-on work experience, and individualized career advising to help young people develop entrepreneurial mindsets and technical skills. Together, we’re shaping the next generation of leaders and change-makers.
DEI Statement
We believe every member of our team and student body deserves opportunities for growth, success and inclusion. We recognize that for many of our students, staff and communities, their life journeys run through oppressive structures and systems (e.g. classism, racism, sexism) — and that’s what makes our organizational culture and work so necessary and important.
We believe that diversity in perspective, backgrounds, ethnicities and lived experience is a strength, and from that strength, we can accomplish great things with the students we serve. Together as students, staff, organizations, communities, volunteers, and partners, we are intentional about creating safe spaces where all members can speak authentically and be themselves.
We are committed to Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity. As members of The Possible Zone community, our progression along this ongoing journey raises thoughtful questions, reveals biases, and opens conversations. We celebrate one another and are unified in our commitment to young people, excellence, and innovation. This work is our shared responsibility and our opportunity to welcome all members who share in our mission and strive to provide pathways that further prepare students in achieving their desired success.
