We are partnered with a fast-growing fintech platform to hire a Director of Sales to own the San Francisco go-to-market engine. You'll lead a 10-person AE team (associate → senior) and scale to 15-16 by year-end, while operating as a high-impact IC—coaching live deals, accelerating cycles, and representing the brand at in-person founder/VC events.

What You'll Do
Lead, hire, and develop a 10→15+ AE team; set goals, coach pipeline, and raise the bar on execution
Own regional revenue outcomes; carry a leadership quota tied to the team's collective gross profit
Work as a field-present leader: join key calls, unblock deals, and model world-class selling
Build operating rhythm and processes: forecasting, territory/event playbooks, dashboards, and enablement
Partner cross-functionally with marketing, partnerships, product, and operations to accelerate wins
Maintain high CRM hygiene and rigorous forecast accuracy
Required Skills and Competencies
5-8 years in sales with 1+ year people management (team of 5+ direct reports)
Proven closers' pedigree as former AE/GTM; comfort carrying a number and coaching live deals
Startup experience ( Strong commercial instincts: prospecting, multithreading, negotiation, and executive presence
In-person operator: onsite in SF 5 days/week; 3+ after-hours events weekly; quick relocator if needed
Tools fluency: Salesforce, Outreach, and modern sales stack
Desired
Fintech or financial-operations platform experience (cards, expense, treasury, bill pay, etc.)
Track record building community/event motions and local partnerships
Experience selling to founders/CFOs and mid-market decision makers
