Commensurate with experience The Opportunity Chief People Officer (CPO) to drive our People & Culture function with both grit and heart. This is a role for someone who knows how to balance Hawaii’s unique labor laws with modern HR leadership, who can connect with blue-collar crews in the field and executives in the boardroom, and who thrives under the weight of high expectations. Advise the CEO and executive team on people strategy, growth, and organizational development. Lead recruitment and retention efforts to attract and keep the best talent for both office and field teams. Ensure full compliance with Hawaii and federal labor laws, OSHA standards, and employment regulations. Mentor and coach leaders at every level to improve trust, decision-making, and team performance. Build team bonding and morale programs that keep our workforce engaged, connected, and supported. Oversee compensation, benefits, and wellness programs that are competitive, sustainable, and people-focused. Model transparency and follow-through, setting the standard for communication and accountability. Be present and available, even beyond standard work hours, to support our people when it matters most. Drive continuous improvement in HR systems, policies, and practices that enable both compliance and culture. What You Bring 10+ years of progressive HR leadership, including at least 3+ years in executive or senior leadership roles. Strong background in talent management, organizational development, HR strategy, and compliance. Extensive knowledge of Hawaii labor laws and federal employment regulations. Demonstrated success in culture building, leadership coaching, and organizational alignment. High emotional intelligence, humility, and communication skills—with the ability to build trust across crews and executives alike. Experience working with or leading blue-collar and field-based teams strongly preferred. Ability to remain composed and approachable under pressure. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. HR certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
