Overview

Distinguished Engineer – Finance Technologies at GEICO. Be part of GEICO's technological transformation by leading the design, development, and implementation of Finance Transformation solutions. Build robust, automated, and scalable Finance solutions to streamline accounting, substantiation, forecasting, reporting, pricing, reserving, compliance, and treasury operations. Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement Finance platforms and solutions supporting diverse finance and corporate initiatives. Collaborate with business and product partners to understand needs and design solutions addressing priorities. Lead buy vs build decisions based on functional fit and cost-benefit. Champion Fintech solutioning in areas such as automated reporting and analytics, treasury operations, reserving, revenue forecasting, pricing, regulatory compliance automation, substantiation, and related areas. Abstract cross-cutting concerns into reusable platform components for current and future use cases. Lead prioritization and sequencing of milestones to deliver incremental business value. Develop and promote best practices (modular design, version control, automated testing, security). Partner with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to implement monitoring, alerting, automation for platform reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Skills

Functional understanding of finance processes (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Reconciliation, FP&A, Governance and Compliance). Strong experience in ERP finance platforms (e.g., Workday Financials, Oracle, SAP). Ability to translate finance requirements into scalable technology solutions using modern stacks (Data Lake, Cloud Computing). Operational Excellence: understanding of SRE concepts (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets) and monitoring/incident response tools. Experience

12+ years in product/platform engineering designing and building finance-critical applications. 5+ years leading and mentoring technical teams. Proven track record partnering with product and business organizations to deliver value. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; experience with Agile. Prior experience implementing Workday Financials is a plus. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience. Compensation and Location

Base pay range: $125,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr The above salary range is a general guideline. Final offer determined by factors including role scope, experience, location, and market conditions.
