Embrey Mills Dental Care is looking for a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team. This position supports the Heartland Dental system and is located in Fredericksburg, VA.

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll work with state-of-the-art technology in a team-focused environment that puts patients first. The successful candidate will be hard-working, motivated, and have a passion for providing the best patient care to the communities served.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustain patient comfort, and provide education throughout treatment
- Review patient health history to support quality care
- Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
- Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
- Prepare treatment rooms with safety protocols following OSHA & CDC recommendations
- Manage supply and inventory levels; place and expedite orders as needed
- Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
- Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification if required by state dental practice act
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Access to minimum PHI for job duties; HIPAA training and data safeguards required
- Prior dental assisting/clinical/chair-side experience
Preferred Experience
- 1+ year(s) of dental setting experience
- Dentrix or other dental software experience
- Dental assisting school certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
- Lift and carry up to 45 pounds
- Availability for virtual or in-person training periodically
- TB test requirement for all new dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN)
Work Schedule
- Monday–Thursday 9:00am–5:00pm and Friday 9:00am–1:00pm
