Responsibilities

  • Assist orthodontists during orthodontic procedures, including placing and removing orthodontic brackets, archwires, and bands
  • Take accurate scans/impressions of the patient\'s teeth for the creation of orthodontic appliances
  • Prepare and sterilize orthodontic instruments and equipment
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide instructions for appliance care
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment charts, progress notes, and digital imaging
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient comfort and satisfaction
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest orthodontic techniques and procedures through continuing education

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s Degree or a certification from a college or technical school training program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation is required
  • Must possess a current state license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
  • Previous experience working as an orthodontic assistant is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and materials
  • Proficiency in taking dental impressions and X-rays
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality patient care
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of dental software

Compensation

Compensation: $30 - $35 hourly
