Responsibilities

  • Dental Assistant partners with the practice team to provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need.
  • Dental Assistant will help prepare the patient for treatment and assist the dentist in restorative dentistry.
  • Provides excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctors and Hygienists including charting, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education.
  • Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction, and ensures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
  • Prepares patients, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains asepsis, prepares materials, and assists dentists during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.
  • Exposes and develops dental diagnostic radiographs.
  • Follows OSHA regulations and safety requirements including HIPAA, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations.

Qualifications

  • Dental Assisting Certification or prior on-the-job training
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates
  • Radiography/ X-RAY certification for respective state
  • CPR Certification required
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education to patients
