$24.00/hr - $39.00/hr

The Phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining satisfactory blood specimens and for assisting in performing routine analysis by performing clerical, computer and limited technical duties. Incumbent is subject to weekends, holidays and on-call duty as assigned.

Phlebotomy registered (American Society of Clinical Pathologists or other accepting certifying agency) preferred.
CPR certification.

Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.
Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.
Ability to work independently without supervision.

Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.
Lift up to 30 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds, including movement of medical supplies and equipment and transferring and repositioning of patients.
Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking.
Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch for patient care and equipment setup.
Manual dexterity to operate office and laboratory equipment.
Ability to ambulate to and from other departments.
Ability to recognize colors.

Indoor, temperature-controlled, smoke-free environment with occasional outdoor exposure.
Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.

Meets established attendance standards.
Adheres to hospital/department dress code and wears ID badge.
May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or nights, as needed to meet deadlines.
May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
May be required to work during disaster situations and stay after workday as necessary.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
