Overview
The Clinical Services Technician collects specimens from all age groups as assigned, with minimal patient impact. Responsible for processing and allocating laboratory specimens and orders from all sources. Ensures proper patient and specimen identification, and verifies the appropriateness of specimens and accompanying orders. Organizes laboratory workflow and prioritizes processing and distribution of specimens. Utilizes equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test requests, accession, label, and deliver specimens to appropriate laboratory sections within acceptable time frames. Performs specified procedures within the scope of established testing methods and responsibilities. Conducts routine maintenance and quality control procedures on equipment and troubleshoots as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
