Position Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Production Planner to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for developing and managing production schedules to ensure timely order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, solid experience in a manufacturing environment, and proficiency in MRP systems and Excel.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with customer orders, lead times, and inventory goals
Coordinate production activities for approximately 500 SKUs across 6–8 production lines
Manage Work in Process (WIP) and ensure timely execution of production runs
Collaborate closely with Procurement, Operations, and Inventory Control teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and align on priorities
Utilize MRP/ERP systems to create and release work orders; material availability planning is essential
Communicate with 20–25 customer accounts to provide updates and manage expectations
Participate in regular production meetings, providing updates and identifying risks or delays
Analyze production metrics to improve planning accuracy and responsiveness
Support and be supported by a collaborative team of two other planning professionals
Requirements:
Proven experience in production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing setting
Hands-on experience with MRP or ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, MRPeasy, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and basic formulas)
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail with a customer-focused mindset
Comfortable working cross-functionally with teams in operations, procurement, and inventory
Experience:
Background in CPG, packaging, plastics, corrugated, films, woven materials, or consumer goods
Exposure to lean manufacturing, inventory optimization, or supply chain planning
Ability to interpret production KPIs and suggest actionable improvements
