Overnight Custodian Job at Planet Fitness in New York

Overview

The Overnight Custodian / Cleaner will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility to ensure a positive member experience.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment and the gym floor.
• Stock locker rooms with proper supplies and paper products.
• Properly dispose of trash and maintain the trash cans.
• Clean and dust items high off the ground (e.g., ceiling fans, TVs, rafters).
• Report any broken or missing amenities or equipment (toilets, faucets, showers, hair dryers, gym equipment, etc.) to the Club Manager.
• Follow the Lost and Found policy and turn in lost member property to the Club Manager/Assistant Club Manager promptly.

Qualifications

• Custodial experience is preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.
• Ability to work overnights.
• Honesty and strong work ethic.
• Ability to solve problems independently.
• Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.
• High school diploma/GED equivalent preferred.

Physical Demands

• Continual standing and walking during shift.
• Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
• Exposure to toxic chemicals (cleaning products).
• Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
• Moving self in different positions, including bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and twisting, to accomplish tasks.
