Overview
BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work Overnight in our busy Emergency department in Olympia, WA.

Overnight Veterinary Technician (Emergency/ER)
Compensation and Benefits
- LVT Pay: $24 - $47 per hour. This starting pay band depends on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system.
- Competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked at night and on weekends (based on a 4-hour minimum).
- Examples: Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential; Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00; Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50.
Role Description
As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a team of veterinary professionals to deliver high-quality care to emergency patients.
Responsibilities
- Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia; operate anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
- Triage emergency cases, obtain vitals (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure).
- Perform digital radiography with correct technique and patient positioning.
- Understand normal ranges for vital signs and interpret them to alert the Veterinarian to changes.
- Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs; monitor for changes and escalate as needed.
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR when indicated.
- Perform medical calculations (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
- Phlebotomy and placement of intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
- Mentor and train other co-workers; provide client-facing empathy and clear communication.
Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in good standing.
- Experience with anesthesia, emergency care, and radiography preferred.
