Position Description
Hudson County Community College (HCCC) is an award-winning, comprehensive, urban community college serving a diverse community. The School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development provides non-credit instruction within an entrepreneurial office focused on community needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures using up-to-date hands-on techniques.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver approved curriculum on a daily basis.
- Plan and organize instructional materials, supply inventories, tools, and equipment; notify when supplies are lacking.
- Prepare lesson plans.
- Provide and maintain a clean environment after each class.
- Track and report student grades and attendance.
- Lead, motivate, and advise students to participate actively in their educational process.
- Provide regular, accurate, and timely feedback to students and the school concerning academics, behavior, and attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- EKG, Phlebotomy, and PCT national certification (by NHA) required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in the field and teaching EKG and Phlebotomy.
- CPR/BLS Instructor certification required.
- Proficiency with computers to enter grades and attendance electronically.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with a diverse staff and student population.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate high integrity.
- Strong energy, interpersonal skills, and facilitation abilities; flexible schedule.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Special Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with a diverse student population. Must be available mornings and/or evenings, with the ability to provide consistent weekly hours and flexibility including weekends. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently when needed.
