South College Knoxville is seeking a student-centered instructor for our Phlebotomy Program's evening class, held on Tuesdays from 5:45 p.m. to 9:35 p.m. at the Lonas Campus in Knoxville, TN. The ideal candidate employs various instructional techniques to engage students with diverse learning styles.
Essential functions include:
- Teaching lecture, lab, and clinical courses as needed.
- Implementing college policies and objectives in line with South College’s philosophy.
- Providing timely feedback on student progress through grading and assessments.
- Connecting students to campus and community resources.
- Assisting with registration, recruitment, and retention efforts.
- Supporting the program director with accreditation processes and reports.
Requirements:
- At least an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Current Phlebotomy and CPR certifications; additional medical assisting certification preferred.
- Understanding of educational theories and instructional techniques.
- Previous teaching experience in a phlebotomy or medical assisting program and/or experience as a phlebotomist or medical assistant.
- Proficiency with educational technology.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to student success and inclusivity.
