The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for presenting a positive and competent image of the Old Colony Y through quality and engaging fitness programs designed to retain and recruit members. Well-prepared, relevant, safe, and effective programming will be taught in a professional manner, resulting in friendly, convenient, and courteous service. The instructor will create and implement high-level fitness routines that combine cutting-edge trends with well-established basic choreography to ensure a safe, healthy, and constructive environment for all participants.

Requirements

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Current CPR, First Aid, and nationally recognized Group Fitness certifications
• Regularly take continuing education courses to maintain certification, at least annually
• In excellent physical condition, able to lift at least 45 pounds with proper technique
• Ability to think independently and develop/deliver class routines
• Maintain confidentiality and practice discernment
• Flexibility to meet the position's requirements, including possible evening, weekend, and holiday hours
• Alert and aware of signs of exercise-induced distress
• Adequate vision to review documents and hearing to interact with the public
• Certifications in Bodypump, TRX, Kettlebell, Bootcamp, etc.
