Summary Of Position

Forklift Drivers perform multiple duties, supporting facility operations for agricultural seed and feed products. The Forklift Driver reports to the production supervisor.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of forklift, supporting facility handling of seed, grain, and packaged goods.
• Assist mill workers and other staff as operational situations require, guided by the production supervisor.
• Verified and efficient movement of material for conditioning and packaging operations.
• Maintain seed lot integrity in compliance with state, federal, and Barkley Seed standards.
• Ensure high levels of sanitation and organization to promote a safe and healthy environment for personnel and product health.
• Loading and unloading various types of truck trailers.
• Maintain clear and accurate written records and system interface devices when applicable.
• Responsible for clean-up of spills associated with activities.
• Notify supervisor of process deviations related to safety, company practices, staff, and seed health.

Experience Required

• Experience safely operating forklifts, dollies, and other loading/moving equipment used in warehouses.
• At least 1 year of warehouse experience.

Education/Licenses/Certification/Formal Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work shifts seasonally.

Essential Abilities

• Flexibility to perform multiple roles.
• Positive attitude and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and load up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, push, pull, and kneel frequently.
• Ability to walk and climb stairs/ladders safely.
• Hand dexterity and strength.

Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor industrial environment.
• Fast-paced with rapid hand-eye coordination.
• May work in outside weather conditions.
• Uneven surfaces, heavy machinery, forklift traffic, loud noise.
