Bartender - Seasonal

Location: Rutgers Athletics - 1 Scarlet Knight Way, Piscataway, NJ 08854. Online applications accepted only. Schedule: Seasonal position. Days and hours may vary. Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Sets up assigned bars; requisitions and stocks beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce.
• Maintains stock and prepares garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality.
• Greets guests in a courteous, friendly manner.
• Takes and processes orders for drinks; mixes and presents drinks using standard recipes; practices prudent portion control.
• Checks guests for proper identification and ensures responsible service of alcohol.
• Receives cash, processes payments, and ensures vouchers are properly executed.
• Locks up and stores all beverage products, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drops; secures bank.
• Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards; maintains an organized work area.
• Arranges bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area; washes and sterilizes stemware.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior bartending experience required.
