Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy machinery (crawler or rubber-tired machines) with excavator attachments to perform excavation, trenching, pipe laying, rock placement, and related tasks.
  • Start and control engines, throttles, switches, levers, and pedals; coordinate with truck operators for material loading.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards and obstructions, including utility lines, other equipment, workers, and falling objects.
  • Provide routine maintenance such as oiling or greasing and adjust equipment as needed.
  • Comply with safety policies and report unsafe conditions to supervision or HR.
  • Contribute to team goals and share knowledge to support others’ development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Licenses and Certifications: Texas Driver's License with proper endorsements, depending on assignment.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Three or more years of related construction experience preferred.
  • Physical: Heavy physical activity; ability to perform strenuous day-to-day tasks; manual dexterity to handle items and operate controls; capability to work in varied weather and outdoor conditions; ability to work in loud environments.
  • Safety: Knowledge and adherence to the company’s safety policies and procedures.
