Job Summary: Liberty Tire Recycling is seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator to join our team. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery, including excavators, skid steers, loaders, forklifts, and yard trucks. The role involves ensuring the efficient movement of materials and maintaining safety standards in the yard. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in operating heavy equipment and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts to move materials and perform tasks within the yard.
• Safely operate a yard truck in a backup capacity when necessary.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and tires throughout the yard.
• Perform routine maintenance and checks on equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
• Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and machinery safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Assist with other yard operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating excavators, skid steers, loaders, forklifts, and yard trucks.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable, punctual, and proactive in work ethic.

Education and Experience

• Previous experience in operating heavy machinery (excavators, skid steers, loaders, forklifts).
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time during the shift.
