Equipment Operator (Operator)

Job Description

• Drive and operate heavy equipment.
• Assume responsibility for proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Perform pre- and post-safety checklists.
• Observe and obey all traffic laws in the operation of the assigned company vehicle.
• Operate loaders, excavators, dozers (material handling/grading).
• Experience with hydraulic shears, screeners and hoe-rams.
• Maintain and operate various types of heavy construction and demolition equipment such as dozers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, rollers/compactors, trenchers, trucks/tractors and forklifts in a safe and efficient manner, and adjust equipment as necessary.
• This position will perform other field-related functions as assigned by the superintendent or foreman.

Qualifications

Must have a current Operator's License. Clean driving record. Five years of general civil construction experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. May assist other craft workers.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to physically navigate construction sites.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
