As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Precon Marine Inc, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of heavy equipment used in marine construction and waterfront construction. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our operations team to ensure that our equipment is in optimal condition to support our marine construction projects. This position is based at our facilities in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, including inspecting, cleaning, and lubricating equipment to ensure it functions at optimal levels.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions, identify faulty components, and repair or replace defective parts.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify worn-out parts, leaks, and other potential issues to prevent equipment downtime.
• Collaborate with the operations team to prioritize equipment repairs and maintenance based on project needs.
• Adhere to safety and environmental standards to maintain a secure work environment and contribute to our commitment to efficiency and integrity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, preferably in a marine or heavy construction environment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in heavy equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform thorough inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the operations team.
• Certification or training in heavy equipment maintenance and repair is a plus.
• Tier 4 exhaust emission training in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the exhaust systems of diesel engines that meet the EPA\'s Tier 4 emissions standards.

Employment Type & Availability

This position is Full-Time, Monday through Friday.

Location

This position is on-site only at our facilities in Chesapeake, Virginia.
