Position Summary

Operate a variety of contractor equipment and trucks utilized in construction and perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of construction site activities.

Essential Functions

• Operate one or more pieces of heavy equipment for loading, hauling and unloading materials and supplies.
• Operate construction equipment such as forklift, front-end loader, and hydraulic excavators.
• Operate jackhammers as needed in demolition.
• Assist crews in digging ditches and trenches, grading, laying pipe, unloading materials and hoisting tools and equipment with backhoes and loaders.
• Complete daily inspection reports on each piece of equipment used.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.
• Perform all duties in conformance with safety and security standards.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Strength to perform average lifting of up to 35 pounds and up to 50 pounds from ground to waist level.
• Arm, hand, and finger dexterity with good eyesight.
• Ability to navigate the work-site daily.
• Occasionally climbs ladders, scaffolding, stairs.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places, and in excavated areas.
• May work around chemicals, near grinding and torching and/or near cranes and heavy equipment.
• May work in close contact with other people.
• Valid driver’s license.

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly range for this position is between $27.00 and $32.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
