Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Location: Caledonia, MI
Job Type: Full-Time

Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain our fleet of heavy-duty construction equipment. The ideal candidate will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot mechanical issues, conduct repairs, and ensure the reliability and safety of equipment both on-site and in our workshop.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and forklifts.
• Diagnose and repair engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other equipment components.
• Utilize diagnostic testing tools to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Conduct repairs both on-site and in the shop as required.
• Follow safety protocols to protect equipment and team members.
• Maintain accurate records of services, repairs, and other documentation.
• Be available for after-hours work when necessary to minimize equipment downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Knowledge of diesel engines and heavy construction equipment.
• Familiarity with computer-based diagnostic tools.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy machinery parts.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
