Overview

Watermark Risk Management International, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented HR Specialist to support the operational needs of the HR department. This fully remote role may require occasional travel to the National Capital Region. The position focuses on managing and maintaining the onboarding program, assisting with employee benefits administration and back-office processes, ensuring compliance with HR policies such as trainings and security, and supporting initiatives to foster employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience.
  • Assist with employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and annual open enrollment.
  • Reconcile benefit carrier invoices.
  • Administer annual compliance filings.
  • Maintain all personnel records.
  • Administer annual employee trainings.
  • Collaborate with the Director of HR on policy development, implementation, and updates.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Oversee employee offboarding tasks as needed.
  • Maintain and administer Paylocity HRIS, ensuring accurate HR records and data, and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment law postings by managing and updating digital display content.
  • Support HR initiatives that enhance company culture and employee engagement.
  • Assist as Assistant FSO, administering annual security trainings, conducting clearance verifications, initiating reinvestigations, conducting foreign travel debriefs and PSQs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of progressive experience in administrative or human resources roles.
  • Experience with Paylocity HRIS and payroll system.
  • Experience with benefits administration is highly desirable.
  • Basic understanding of payroll processes and contract compliance is desirable.
  • Strong critical thinking, collaboration, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities; handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Attention to detail; knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Planner; strong interpersonal and communication skills; excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Can-do attitude.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years).

Certifications

  • PHR or SHRM-CP is highly recommended.

Security Clearance

  • DOD Secret clearance or higher is preferred; must be a U.S. citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks including filing and scanning.
  • May require sedentary work at least 50% of the time.
  • Ability to manage stress professionally; demonstrated critical thinking and leadership; effective verbal and written communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.
