Role Summary
Participate in the day-to-day responsibilities of the area while providing high-quality customer service and adhering to the department’s operational standards. Effectively maintain the Resort’s waste and recycling processes. Promote the environmental and economic benefits of the environmental sustainability program and carbon reduction plan for the Resort.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the collection, sorting, and processing of various types of waste materials, including recyclables and general waste.
- Operate specialized waste management equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all waste management activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of waste and recyclables throughout the Resort.
- Support waste and recycling operations, including the collection, transportation, and disposal of all waste generated onsite.
- Deliver and exceed World Class Standards involving customer service with other departments and guest interaction.
- Oversee daily operation, inspection, and maintenance of the truck route vehicle, ensuring performance and safety compliance.
- Maintain waste compactors and cardboard balers during shifts.
- Maintain the quality of waste and recycling containers around the resort.
- Adhere to policies and safety regulations related to equipment operation and waste handling.
Qualifications & Experience
- Preferred: Theme Park or related customer service experience.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to multitask, be self-motivated, and support colleagues as a team player.
- Strong problem-solving skills and dedication to guest service.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods, transport waste containers up to 75 pounds, and maneuver bales with a pallet jack.
- Good visual and auditory acuity for documentation, vehicle operation, and communication.
Work Environment
- Work in indoor and outdoor settings, adapting to weather and surface conditions.
- Exposure to wet and humid conditions.
Other Job Requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid Florida Driver License and proof of insurance.
- Ability to operate a truck (F150) with trailer; CDL not required.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and handle waste materials safely.
- Operate waste compactors and perform related tasks safely.
- Attendance is mandatory.
