HDR is a Top 10 Architectural & Engineering (A&E) firm in the US, ranked by Engineering News Record, and one of the largest employee-owned A&E companies. We are involved in significant projects such as the Installation Engineering and Management functions for the Civil Engineer Squadron at the US Air Force Academy (USAFA). The project begins in early 2026 and lasts for eight years.
The role involves wide-ranging facility management services, including planning, design, asset management, and environmental services. Ideal candidates will have experience with federal contracts and/or the Air Force Civil Engineering Squadron, and a strong enthusiasm to support cadets and future Air Force leaders in state-of-the-art facilities.
This full-time, on-site position is located at USAFA, starting March 1, 2026. As a Haz Waste Program Manager, you will:
- Manage the USAFA Hazardous Waste program to ensure compliance with federal regulations and plans.
- Safely collect and manage hazardous waste.
- Train personnel and contractors on waste management procedures.
- Prepare reports, spill reports, and update related plans.
- Assist with permits and ensure accurate record keeping.
- Support compliance inspections and audits.
- Manage contaminated rag exchange/rag laundering.
- Collect project data and perform independent judgment on complex issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Air Force Civil Engineering Squadron and related environmental regulations.
- Ability to work on-site at USAFA and pass background checks.
- US Citizenship is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Environmental Science or related field.
- At least 5 years of environmental experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
