Fisher Phillips is a premier international labor and employment law firm seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Secretary to support our attorneys and uphold exceptional client service and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and format correspondence, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • File legal documents timely and accurately with state and federal courts (e-filing knowledge a plus).
  • Maintain attorney calendars through Outlook and CompuLaw (scheduling appointments, calendaring due dates, etc.).
  • Prepare and process engagement letters and new client/matter requests.
  • Regularly and accurately proofread documents to ensure accuracy prior to distribution or filing.
  • Maintain updated client files, including paper-based and electronic files; comply with office policies on file management and recordkeeping.
  • Follow up on attorney client deadlines and calendar appointments through electronic calendaring and docketing systems.
  • Arrange meetings and conference calls; may order meals, refreshments, and equipment as requested.
  • Organize travel for assigned attorneys and complete expense reimbursements in a timely manner.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of vendor invoices; prepare check requests and submit invoices for payment to client or accounting.
  • Able to help others when needed and balance multiple assignments with professionalism; seek assistance as needed.
  • Provide assistance to visitors, paralegals and attorneys when secretaries are absent, and accept overflow work from other secretaries.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma required (college degree preferred, but not required).
  • Five years of experience as a legal secretary required.
  • Strong computer proficiency with Lexis Nexis, Pacer, ECF, iManage or a document management system, CompuLaw, Concur, Chrome River, Aderant, InTapp, Litera, and MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, documents, and processes in Litigation, including ability to mark and generate a table of contents and table of authorities.

The hourly rate range for this position is $48.72/hr. - $56.41/hr. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
