The Longview School District is hiring for a Substitute Secretary
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Schedule: Variable
Pay: $21.61-$31.34 per hour
Closing Date: December 27th 2025
Essential Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to complete and pass three of the four tests categories:
- General Math (77%)
- Excel 2019 - Intermediate (77%)
- Word 2016 - Intermediate (77%)
- Typing (50 + wpm)
- Must have good communication and public relations skills.
- Experience with multi-line phone systems preferred.
- Previous clerical experience preferred.
- Must attend mandatory Skyward training prior to working.
- Act as a receptionist, meet and assist individuals coming to the office, and receive incoming phone calls to the office.
- Demonstrate knowledge of good clerical methods, practices, and procedures.
- Proficient in navigation of the Student Information system, Skyward.
- Work effectively with school students, staff and administrators.
- Relieve other secretaries as needed.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Make decisions with good judgment.
- Sorting, alphabetizing and filing.
- Possess ability to be flexible in job assignments and routines.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintain a record of punctuality, dependability, and consistent attendance.
