Overview
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club is hiring a Part-Time PAT Unit Secretary.
Location: Trophy Club, TX. This role combines clinical and administrative duties to support patient flow and documentation within the unit.
Responsibilities
- This position will consist of clinical and non-clinical responsibilities.
- The PCT will report primarily to PAT but will be available for cross-training anywhere inside Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at Trophy Club and will be assigned to other departments, upon approval of director. At the discretion of and under the direction of the nursing staff, the PCT’s clinical duties will include assisting in all phases of routine patient care, obtaining and documenting vital signs, collection of lab specimens, ambulating patients, responding to patient requests, cleaning/prepping rooms including stretchers and equipment, stocking supplies and patient refreshments, assist with patient flow by bringing patients back to Pre-Op, escorting discharged patients out of the facility and accompanying patient as necessary.
- PCT will not perform any duties requiring licensure and/or certification beyond the scope of a patient care technician.
- The PCT’s nonclinical duties will include secretarial/administrative duties at the nursing desk, answering telephones, answering call lights, assists entering information into computer systems, making copies and faxing documents, and entering charges into EHR.
- The clinical and non-clinical lists of duties are ongoing and may be amended as additional responsibilities are added.
Qualifications
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Licensure/Certification: BLS, ACLS, PALS certification (required within 3 months of hire).
- Required Experience: Prefer one (1) year minimum in any of the following areas: hospital, high volume clinic, private physician’s office or nursing home.
