Duties
Under executive direction with significant independence, directs the activities of the Administration Division. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing administrative assistance to the Chief of Administration, including drafting, typing, and distributing confidential correspondence.
- Supervising clerical staff and managing schedules, calendars, and division resources.
- Handling communication, coordination of events, and liaising with city officials and other departments.
- Managing administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, updating contact lists, and processing requests.
- Responding to verifications and coordinating agency events and special projects.
- Performing clerical tasks, creating reports, and preparing official documents.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree with secretarial or office technology credits, or equivalent education/experience.
- Experience requirements vary from 6 months to 2 years of secretarial experience, depending on education level.
Skills Requirements
Typing speed of at least 55 words per minute; stenographic skills may be required for some assignments.
Residency Requirement
NYC residency within 90 days of appointment; exceptions apply for certain city employees.
