Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on providing administrative and business support to the organization in order to achieve operational goals. Responsibilities include producing documents, recording and filing information, handling mail, preparing reports, making travel arrangements, scheduling appointments, responding to inquiries, data entry, and operating office equipment. It involves supporting daily business activities in a hands-on environment, typically under supervision. This is an experienced role requiring basic knowledge of procedures and tools, often obtained through work experience or vocational training. The role works under moderate supervision, handling routine problems that may require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures.

Hours and Location

Hours: 40 hours weekly

Location: TMCCC Obstetrics & Gynecology, 310 Broadway, 3rd Fl, Revere, MA 02151

Job Overview

Supports day-to-day secretarial and operational tasks for a single site, including planning, organizing, staffing, and scheduling support for physicians.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of healthcare experience including staffing and scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three (3) years of healthcare experience including staffing and scheduling.
  • Medical transcription experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle routine administrative duties, verify insurance, complete authorizations, communicate with patients about financial responsibilities, schedule appointments, maintain records, and manage billing and collections.
  • Order supplies, assist with equipment maintenance, and support patient registration and documentation.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, and insurance companies regarding authorizations and insurance reviews.
  • Assess patients' financial and insurance status, educate on options, and handle payments.
  • Provide patient education and support office operations effectively.

Physical Requirements and Skills

  • Frequent sitting, occasional standing, lifting 10-15 lbs, manual dexterity, visual and auditory requirements.
  • Computer literacy, excellent interpersonal skills, understanding of healthcare billing, ability to work independently, and strong organizational skills.
