Instructor Pool - American Sign Language (ASL)

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Sign Language Education, Deaf Education, Sign Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
- ACTFL Superior proficiency in ASL.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess certification from the American Sign Language Teachers Association (ASLTA) – Certified Level.
- Experience teaching American Sign Language.
- Experience teaching at a community college.
- Experience in teaching and/or developing Hybrid, Hyflex, and/or Online courses.
Position Purpose:
Faculty are professional educators with the primary responsibility of providing a quality learning experience for all Lane Community College students.
Essential Functions:
- Support student learning through activities that include: Exhibit compliance with College policies and procedures, accountability for leave time, timesheet completion, release time, textbook ordering and related functions.
- Sustain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching.
- Collegial participation in faculty performance evaluation process.
- Maintain and post office hours in alignment with College expectations.
- Provide high-quality classroom instruction.
- Create course content, develop and revise course content and materials.
