Job Description

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Tree Removal Technician to work under North American Ministries, facilitating hazardous aerial tree removal at disaster relief sites. The technician will perform tree work that exceeds the capabilities of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) and volunteers, working under the Tree Removal Technical Team Manager alongside SLT and volunteers. Responsibilities include tool management, logistical support, and maintaining 'response-ready' equipment at the homebase in North Wilkesboro, NC. A day in the life of a Tree Removal Technician:

At Samaritan's Purse, the Gospel is central to all we do. We start each day with devotions and prayer for our staff, volunteers, and the ministry worldwide. The technician will:

• Maintain personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness.
• Travel to field sites for aerial work on dangerous trees.
• Operate vehicles and aerial lifts, support logistics, assist with tool management, and ensure safety and quality.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of equipment, keeping it response-ready and accurately recording work.
• Keep aerial lifts and chainsaws organized and safe, including warehouse and garage areas.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of beneficiaries within Samaritan's Purse operations.
• Follow organizational policies and participate in daily devotions and prayer support.
• Maintain a Christian witness in the workplace and community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School diploma or GED, with at least 3 years of related experience or equivalent.
• DOT Medical Card (assistance available).
• Willingness to obtain a Class A CDL within one year.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights of 90+ feet.
• Experience with aerial lifts, bucket trucks, spider-lifts, hazardous tree removal, and chainsaw operation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team to perform complex tree removals.
• Ability to write reports and complete job site assessments.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Willing to deploy on short notice for 3+ weeks.

Type: Full-Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English

Travel Expectations: Domestic travel 180-237 days per year
