Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team at AmeriPharma. This is a hands-on technical role focused on the execution and day-to-day operation of cybersecurity measures, including vulnerability remediation, endpoint management, log review, access governance, and incident response. Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Affairs, the Cybersecurity Specialist will work closely with IT and Infrastructure teams to maintain and improve AmeriPharma’s security posture, ensure patient data protection, and respond to security threats in real time. Please note: This is not a remote position. Location: Laguna Hills. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Remediate identified vulnerabilities across endpoints, networks, and applications.
  • Perform daily log reviews, threat hunting, and SIEM analysis to identify suspicious activity.
  • Manage and configure endpoint protection solutions (EDR/XDR).
  • Execute access governance processes, including provisioning, de-provisioning, and access reviews.
  • Maintain and execute incident response runbooks; assist in real-time incident containment and investigation.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to harden infrastructure and enforce least-privilege access controls.
  • Participate in patch management cycles and verify successful deployment across systems.
  • Assist with audits, compliance checks, and technical documentation.
  • Support forensic investigations and prepare reports following incidents.
  • Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
  • Contribute to operational improvements and automation of security tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, HITECH, and other applicable healthcare security standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Expertise in HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in risk management, information security, and regulatory compliance auditing.
  • Strong technical knowledge in network security, cloud security, and identity access management (IAM).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to make strategic, data-driven decisions in high-pressure environments.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and legal counsel to ensure compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and cybersecurity tools like Vera code, Nessus, and Splunk.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • CompTIA A+ and Network+ or equivalent certification; CISSP, CCNA, MSCE, MCSD.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience with Fortify, WebInspect, or similar analysis tools in an automated development environment.
  • Experience with AppDynamics, CAST, or other Application Intelligence Platforms (AIP).
  • Experience writing code for moderately complex applications and automation.
  • Knowledge of the FDA Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, GDPR, US DoD, and other cybersecurity compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Mobile App development experience in Swift, SwiftUI, Objective C (iOS).
  • 4+ years of Mobile App development experience with Kotlin (Android).
  • Experience with Security Testing tools such as Contrast Security and Nowsecure.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Test Automation.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, source control, and build processes.
