Job Summary
The Housing Department Facilities Office Assistant helps on-campus residents maintain the highest quality of life in their living space by expediting maintenance and building services work requests to get them resolved as quickly as possible.
Responsibilities
- Develop an extensive knowledge of maintenance related tasks and delegate these tasks to the right staff member in an appropriate, timely manner.
- Have a solid understanding of the housing campus layout and property numbers.
- Assist with administrative duties and create training material for Residential Program Services facilities staff.
- Escort contractors and outside vendors to specific work areas.
- Create work orders in AIM
- Clean, wash and maintain UGA vehicles and LSV’s.
- Other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled on at least a half-time basis at the University of Georgia when classes are in session.
- Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct and University Housing.
- May not exceed 20 hours of work per week across all student staff positions.
- May not exceed 6 consecutive hours of work per shift.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies
- Use the following methods of communication: Online work tickets, Direct communication, Email, Two-way radio, Telephone.
- Office skills include: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Database management, General office skills.
