Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of front desk operations for the assigned shift. Schedule employees to ensure proper coverage.
  • Monitor performance and initiate corrective and/or disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies; alert management of potentially serious issues.
  • Ensure staff is properly trained and equipped to carry out their roles; greet guests promptly and professionally; respond to guest complaints; implement service recovery gestures to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate VIP, Priority Club, or special guest needs to staff and follow up on execution.
  • Help achieve departmental guest satisfaction, revenue, and profit goals; manage labor costs and expenses within budget.
  • Assist in revenue generation through full utilization of company systems and processes.
  • Ensure security procedures for monies, credit, and guest transactions are followed.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the front office and public areas; correct deficiencies; train staff on PBX procedures for emergencies.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other departments (Accounting, Revenue Management, Sales/Marketing, Catering, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance).
  • Occasionally serve as manager on duty.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; plus one or more years of front office/guest services experience (supervisory experience preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fluent English required; other languages preferred.
  • Strong communication, reading/writing, numerical, budgeting, and problem-solving skills; ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
