Overview
Airport Administration Assistant position located at the Daytona Beach International Airport. This is a contracted position employed through a third party vendor and is ineligible for county offered benefits.
Pay Range: $16.00/hr - $19.00/hr

Pre-Employment Requirements
- Selected candidates will need to complete an application for employment, Airport ID application, submit fingerprints and driver’s license for a full Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and driver’s license validation.
- Applicants must successfully pass a drug test and all other background checks.
- The application and screening process may take between one (1) and three (3) weeks to complete, pending background checks and screening results.
Major Functions / Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and general clerical support to the Airport Administration Team.
- Assist with special projects; perform a variety of administrative duties as assigned.
- Initiate purchase orders and process invoices for payment.
- Email correspondence, schedule meetings, organize and maintain files, and research special projects.
- Develop procedures and work instructions; may train newly hired Administration Office Assistants in daily tasks.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older, eligible to work in the United States, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass a criminal history record check and security threat assessment.
- Must pass a drug screening.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license during employment.
- Must have a minimum of six (6) months experience working as an office assistant in a professional office environment.
- Must have intermediate experience using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- A combination of education and work experience may be substituted for the preferred qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications (may include but are not limited to): Associate’s degree with emphasis in finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent; two (2) years of experience in a professional office environment; intermediate/advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Licenses And Certifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge.
- Good communication and writing skills; ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Strong time management, computer skills (MS Office), and ability to work with interruptions and changes in priorities.
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system and radio communication devices; provide quality customer service.
Equipment Utilized
- Office Telephone; Desk computer; Copier (copy/scan/print); binding machine.
- Radio base station, transmitter and receiver; hand-held radio devices.
Physical, Environmental, and Mental Demands
- Physical: Ability to talk and hear; lift and carry up to 15 pounds; stand, walk, reach, handle, and finger dexterity.
- Environmental: Extended periods of inside work and occasional outside work.
- Mental: Ability to read and comprehend reports and instructions; perform basic arithmetic; communicate clearly in English; problem-solving and data analysis abilities.
