CNB is looking for a qualified, motivated, and customer- and team-focused individual to join our team as an On-Site Assistant Manager at our Main Office in Hillsdale, Michigan.
Job Summary
Oversees teller activities for three locations within Hillsdale. Works closely with the Branch Manager and CSR staff for coordination and coverage for the Hillsdale office frontline staff.
This is a highly visible, mid-level management position that requires professionalism, leadership, and ownership. The role involves representing management and the Bank positively, setting an example for staff, and ensuring operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervises the teller team at the Hillsdale lobby, Hillsdale Drive-up, and 1 West Carleton Drive-up.
- Coaches and holds the teller team accountable to performance metrics, including balancing standards, service expectations, and referral goals.
- Promotes cross-selling of CNB products and services, assisting with goal setting.
- Conducts morning team huddles and monthly coaching sessions.
- Maintains a branch schedule to ensure adequate staffing.
- Ensures policies and procedures are followed and staff are trained accordingly.
- Oversees daily cash operations, including balancing, cash limits, and cash ordering/shipment.
- Manages ATM balancing and dispute processes for Hillsdale and Pittsford ATMs.
- Performs monthly cash audits, surprise cash audits, and submits reports timely.
- Conducts performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Reviews and approves time off, vacation requests, and timesheets.
- Participates in interviewing prospective employees.
- Facilitates team meetings to discuss successes, improvements, and updates.
- Assists tellers with transaction approvals, cash discrepancies, complex requests, and client interactions.
- Identifies business development opportunities for follow-up.
- Operates a teller window and assists with new account openings and changes.
- Maintains confidentiality of client information.
- Maintains regular attendance and ongoing training.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, including Bank Secrecy Act.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Communication
- Regular communication with retail administration, branch managers, relationship bankers, and tellers.
- Regular contact with support departments and line of business partners.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years banking experience, including cash handling.
- Passion for providing excellent service and ability to inspire others.
- Strong supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and team-oriented.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Ability to work under pressure with irate clients.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic accounting principles.
Working Conditions
